Georgia Department of Economic Development Managing Director, Japan Office
State of Georgia Japan Office: Operating for over 50 years, the State of Georgia’s Japan office is one of the two longest-serving international offices for Georgia in the world. The Managing Director will serve as the lead point of contact and represent the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) for the purposes of investment lead generation and trade. In this capacity, the individual will lead all FDI lead generation strategies, manage and expand existing industry relationships, oversee Trade services, host and execute high-level delegation from Georgia, liaise back with the Atlanta-based staff, and manage office personnel and operations.
International Investment
This role reports to the Director of International Investment with GDECD’s Global Commerce Division. The Global Commerce Division features experienced professionals which help international companies to establish, relocate or expand business operations in Georgia. Project managers specifically assist executives of foreign-based businesses with an interest in locating in the U.S. by coordinating a variety of services that include: customized site searches for available buildings or sites; information on operating costs, taxes, potential suppliers, industry sectors, etc.; information on Georgia business and financial incentives; and access to programs for workforce recruiting and training.
